Reflections

Look for reflections in a variety of surfaces for this assignment, the refection shown is as important as the overall composition! I am looking for the following:

•Composition
•Clarity
•Color/contrast
•craftsmanship
•3 photos of DIFFERENT subjects showing reflection
•The reflection is important, not just a reflective surface!

Movement

Your assignment this week is to capture motion with your camera using the techniques we discussed in class. Be creative and seek out movement! You must post your best three images by next Wednesday.
  • one shot with a static camera (subject blur)
  • one shot panning with the subject (background blurred)
  • one shot freezing the motion

Extreme Angles

Your objective for this weeks assignment is to further composition skills using extreme angles and to explore and utilize concepts using various points of view.

•You will submit your best 3 photos of different subjects.
•You will decide if they are best represented or have the strongest impact in color or black and white.
•You must include at least one birds eye view and one worms eye view, the third is your choice.

Due: September 16 (must be edited and posted before class on this day)

Shadow

Objective: Explore how an objects shadow can add visual interest to a photograph. In addition, learn to place both an object (or part of an object) and its shadow effectively into a rectangular frame.

Please remember:
  • You must include the object or part of the object in your composition as well as the shadow.
  • Think about the "composition rules" we discussed in class.
  • Take lots of photos so that you have plenty to choose from, and take advantage of different settings.
  • You will post your best 3 photos (different subject/composition) no later than Wed. September 9.
  • The 3 posted photos must be converted to black and white.
  • HAVE FUN!
